The team opens the season at home against Glendale Prep on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 7:00 PM at San Tan Charter High School.

San Tan Charter 2024-25 Schedule

The Roadrunners are coming off the school's first ever AIA State Championship following a thrilling comeback victory over Rancho Solano in the championship game in February. Trailing by 10 points at halftime, and as many as 13 in the 3rd quarter, the Roadrunners finished the game on a 44-16 run over the final 14:35 to claim the 69-54 victory. The win capped off a history 28-3 season where they averaged 85.4 points per game and 49.6 points against per game on the season. The team also dominated Arizona "small ball" competition, going 22-0 and averaging 92.2 points per game and 44.8 points per game in those victories.

The Roadrunners return a plethora of talent, including two of the top sophomores in the state, reigning 2A Player of the Year Peyton Lubash, and region defensive player of the year Jase Benjamin. The team also returns multiple upperclassmen, including senior Kylen Bonner, who surpassed the 1,000 point mark last year during the playoff run, and his skill and versatility will add stability to the roster throughout the year. Two juniors, Kristo Jackson and Jarred Johnstad, also return with bigger roles this year after playing pivotal roles off the bench in the team’s run to the championship last year.

Adding to the returning cast is a pair of transfers, junior transfer Jaelon Germany, and junior transfer Jachin Reynolds. Germany, a 3-star recruit who moved from Texas to Arizona prior to the season, is a 6’2 guard with tremendous skill, court vision, and athleticism, and playing opposite Lubash in the back-court will give the Roadrunners one of the top guard combos in the state. Reynolds, who stands at 6’5 with an impressive wingspan, adds significant height, strength, and athleticism to the roster for a team that mostly played with a smaller lineup throughout last season.
