Roadrunners Face Fellow 2A Phoenix Country Day in 2026 Copper Semifinals
A trip to the Arizona “small ball” state championship game is on the line Friday as two AIA 2A programs square off in the Copper Conference semifinals, 5:00 PM at Corona Del Sol High School in Tempe, Arizona.
San Tan Charter (23-3) advanced with a 68-52 win over Coolidge in the quarterfinals. Peyton Lubash led the way with 27 points and six three-pointers, while Kristo Jackson added 9 and Jase Benjamin chipped in 10.
San Tan Charter Faces Francis Parker (CA) in First Round of 2025 Section 7
The San Tan Charter Roadrunners return to the Section 7, Arizona's premier 'Juneball' high school event, opening up play against Francis Parker (CA) on Friday, June 20, 3:30 PM at the Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa. After winning their play-in bracket each of the last two seasons to advance to weekend play, the Roadrunners received a formal invite to this year's event, which will be making its debut in Mesa after playing at State Farm Stadium in Glendale for the past 3 summers.
San Tan Charter Travels to Casteel For Power Road Showdown
The San Tan Charter Roadrunners (1-2) travel south on Power Road to play the Casteel Colts (1-1) on Tuesday night, 7:00 PM at Casteel High School. The Roadrunners return from the 5th Annual Battle by the Beach at St. Bonaventure High School in Ventura, California following losses to top California schools Crespi (62-56) and JSerra (80-59). Casteel, who lost in the 6A State Championship game 55-31 to Ironwood in February, is coming off a 70-61 loss in a rematch at Ironwood last Friday.
Roadrunners Travel to California for 5th Annual Battle by the Beach
Coming off their 88-37 opening night victory on Wednesday, the #9 ranked (AZ Republic Preseason "Super 10") Roadrunners (1-0) travel to California to play in the 5th Annual Battle by the Beach Showcase, hosted at St. Bonaventure Catholic High School in Ventura, California. On Friday the Roadrunners will face Crespi Carmelite at 7:00 PM (8:00 PM AZ), followed by JSerra on Saturday at 6:00 PM (7:00 PM AZ) as part of a full slate of games in the showcase style event.

The San Tan Charter Roadrunners (1-0) opened the season in a dazzling way Wednesday night with an 88-37 win over Glendale Prep (0-1) at San Tan Charter High School in Gilbert, AZ. The Roadrunners travel to California on Friday for the 5th Annual Battle by the Beach Showcase at St. Bonaventure High School in Ventura, California.
AZ Republic Ranks Roadrunners #9 in Arizona "Super 10" Preseason Rankings
The San Tan Charter Roadrunners enter the season as the #9 ranked team in the state of Arizona according to the Arizona Republic "Super 10" preseason rankings posted on Tuesday, Nov. 19 (Link). The Roadrunners will be put to the test early, facing two of the other Super 10 teams in the first two weeks of the season at the LV8 Invitational, #1 Perry and #10 Williams Field.
